The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been paired to face Comoros in the next round of the qualifying games for the women’s football category at the 2028 Olympic games.
Nigeria’s opponents were confirmed after Comoros pummelled Sudan 30-0 on aggregate, setting up the fixture with the west Africans who are aiming to feature in the medal winning competition once again.
The Islanders won the first leg by 17-0 on June 3 before securing a 13-0 win in the return fixture in a bombarding attacking display throughout the encounter, with nine players getting on the score sheet.
Comoros will now face a lot tougher task as Justine Madugu’s side are expected to feature in the fixture as strong favourites regarding the pedigree of the side.
The Super Falcons last played against Senegal in double-header friendly, defeating Senegal 5-1 on aggregate following a 3-0 and 2-1 wins over their fellow west Africans.
The round fixture has been fixed for October 5 and 13, with just two sides to represent the continent at the 2028 games to be held in Los Angeles, United State.
