The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) says it donated assorted Bibles, New Testaments and Scripture Portions worth N14.39 million in 2025 as part of efforts to make the Word of God accessible to more Nigerians.
The society said the donation comprised 8,268 copies of Bibles, New Testaments and Portions valued at N9 million for sighted beneficiaries and 77 complete sets of Braille Bibles worth N5.39 million for persons with visual disabilities.
BSN disclosed that it had also distributed Scriptures worth N7.4 million to less privileged Nigerians in 2024.
According to the organisation, the initiative aligns with its mission of making the Holy Bible available in different languages and formats while helping Nigerians engage with the Scriptures through life-transforming programmes.
The beneficiaries included prison inmates, churches, Christian fellowships, theological institutions, schools for the blind and individual members of the public.
BSN noted that a complete set of the Braille Bible, comprising 37 volumes, costs N70,000, making it one of the specialised formats provided to visually impaired persons.
The society explained that the free Bible distribution programme was funded through donations from its members, corporate organisations, churches and individual supporters.
It stated that the initiative was part of ongoing efforts to remove barriers that hinder access to the Scriptures across the country.
BSN, a non-profit interdenominational Christian organisation, is involved in Bible translation, publication, distribution and fundraising for Bible work in Nigeria.
The organisation said it had translated the complete Bible into 27 Nigerian languages, while translation and revision projects were ongoing in several other indigenous languages.
The society reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that more Nigerians have access to the Bible in their preferred languages and formats.
