The police have rescued two kidnap victims and also arrested five suspects of the terrorism act following an enforcement operation in Bauchi State.
Operatives of the Command made arrest of the suspects, Mainasara Umaru, 23; Buba Umaru, 20; and 19-year-old Muhammadu Usman during carried out raids to curb incidents or banditry in the area.
The security conducted the initiative at the Kuka Village in Duguri District when the armed men invaded the residence of a villager in Kwarin Gadali Hamlet, Pali District, and abducted his 40-year-old wife and 25-year-old son.
The police said the operation was launched immediately after the crime was reported, and stated that upon receipt of a distress call from the scene, report, operatives from Pali Outstation immediately visited the scene and commenced intelligence-led operations to track the perpetrators and secure the release of the victims.
Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, in a press release on Friday, said that further investigation led to the arrest of two more suspects on Wednesday, following confessions that revealed the victims’ location.
Habib mentioned that following intelligence-driven operations, the kidnapped victims were successfully rescued unhurt on June 3, 2026, adding that they have since been taken to the General Hospital, Alkaleri, for medical examination and attention.
He uttered that all suspects are now in custody, adding that the case has been transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for discreet investigation, while efforts continue to arrest fleeing accomplices and recover weapons allegedly used during the attack.
