“As we entered the car, I was slapped” — Woman recounts abduction by friend’s boyfriend
A woman has shared a harrowing account of how she was kidnapped in 2006 by the boyfriend of a close friend, using her experience to warn young women about the importance of trusting their instincts.

How the incident happened
She explained that she first met the man through her friend and had no reason to suspect he posed any danger.
According to her account, the man appeared calm, friendly and caring whenever he was around her friend. She said his behaviour did not raise any concerns at the time.
The situation took a turn when he offered to give her a ride. Recalling the events of that day, she said she persuaded her friend to accompany her.
“I was kidnapped in 2006, not by strangers, but by the boyfriend of my friend. I met this guy through my friend. He seemed so nice and calm whenever he was around her. But the Christian in me didn’t see any red flag. He was so bothered about me. He offered to give me a ride. So they left and I remember I convinced my friend to follow me. As we entered the car, I had never seen someone slapped the way I was slapped that day. This ordeal lasted less than three hours, but I cannot now imagine what these girls, currently kidnapped are going through. Please, I want to beg every young girl out there, do not ignore your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, please don’t go. Trust your gut. Do not be a victim.”
