Army Boosts Agricultural Production with Fertiliser Distribution to Jigawa Farmers
The Nigerian Army has distributed 40 bags of fertiliser to selected farmers in Jigawa State as part of its Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) programme aimed at supporting agricultural development and strengthening ties with local communities.
Security sources disclosed that the distribution exercise took place on Thursday at Dahuwa Primary School in Chamo District, Dutse Local Government Area of the state.
According to the sources, the Commander of the 26 Armoured Brigade, Brig.-Gen. O.I. Odigie, represented the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) during the event.
The fertiliser was presented to selected beneficiaries from communities within the brigade’s area of responsibility as part of ongoing efforts to boost food production, improve farmers’ productivity, and foster cordial relations between the military and host communities.
Sources further stated that the initiative aligns with the Nigerian Army’s broader commitment to community development and socio-economic support programmes designed to improve the welfare of citizens across the country.
The exercise was conducted peacefully and concluded without any security incident.
