The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant for Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency, Mahasin Attah, has called for an immediate review of the party’s primary election in the constituency, citing concerns over the conduct and outcome of the exercise.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lafia, Attah expressed dissatisfaction with the primary election process and urged the party leadership to investigate issues raised by party members, delegates, and stakeholders across Awe, Doma, and Keana Local Government Areas.
She said her appeal was aimed at promoting justice, fairness, and unity within the party, stressing that the integrity of the APC’s internal democratic processes must be protected to sustain members’ confidence in the party.
Attah reaffirmed her commitment to the party and its leadership, adding that concerns surrounding the primary election should not be ignored but addressed through established party mechanisms to ensure transparency, credibility, and inclusiveness.
According to her, every stakeholder deserves to feel fairly represented in the party’s decision-making process, and her demand for a review was not driven by personal interest but by the need to safeguard internal democracy within the APC.
She therefore called on the party’s primary election committee, as well as APC leaders at the state and national levels, to objectively examine the grievances raised by stakeholders across the constituency.
“The strength of our party lies in its ability to uphold justice, fairness, and due process. Internal democracy remains the foundation of party unity and electoral success,” she stated.
Attah also appealed to her supporters and APC members in the constituency to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and committed to the party while seeking redress through its internal conflict-resolution channels.
She expressed confidence that the party leadership would address the concerns raised, strengthen unity within the APC, and position the party for success ahead of the 2027 general elections.
