On Tuesday, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno declared that Nigerians would elect President Bola Tinubu to a second term in 2027.

Eno clarified that Tinubu has given state governors access to funds so they may start projects.

The governor said that Tinubu had stabilized the naira’s value relative to the US dollar in an interview online.

“First of all, Tinubu has made funding available for us to do all of the projects we have done, including building 1,300 kilometers of roads, 458 compassionate homes to support 12,000 elders, hospitals in all 31 local government areas, and modern, solar-powered schools,” he stated.

“You will see that there are sufficient reasons for Akwa Ibom and Nigerians to return him to complete the job that he has started if you look at the tax reforms and the benefits to the people, look at the dollars that are now stable from when he took over, look at our foreign reserves.”

Eno stated, “We trust God and with God on our side, I’m an advent believer in the God factor, Akwa Ibom is up for Tinubu and the APC,” when asked if he would support Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

“I had 392,000 votes, and the president had closed to 400,000. We are on the ground and we just finished the primaries.”

Aside from the governor, all of the senators, 24 of the 26 members of the House of Assembly, 30 of the 31 local government chairmen, local government council members, and perhaps a small number of members of a single local government are APC.

“You think that people will just sit down and let one party overrun us when these are the folks working in the field and on the ground?

“I appreciate everyone, but the more, the better so that everyone has a choice. We are on the ground, therefore I’m not afraid.
