THE Commanding Officer, Forward Operating Base (FOB), Ibaka, Capt. Adebowale Omotosho has reaffirmed the navy’s commitment to promoting the wellbeing and development of its host communities.
Omotosho made the expression while donating reading desks and chairs to Ibaka Community Secondary School on Tuesday.
He said that the gesture was in commemoration of the Nigerian Navy’s 70th Anniversary celebration.
The naval officer stated that the base would continue to promote the educational advancement of its host community residents.
Omotosho stated that the donation was aimed at supporting the educational development of Ibaka people.
The commanding officer further described the move as capable of strengthening the relationship between the navy and the people
“This initiative is part of our corporate social responsibility programmes, it is in line with the policy direction of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Adm. Idi Abbas,” he said.
He commended Ibaka people for their cooperation and continued support to the activities of the base.
The naval officer stated that the collaboration between the navy and the community had contributed significantly to the security and stability of the base’s operations.
Mr Andu Paul, the school Principal, thanked the navy for its numerous supports and interventions in the community.
Paul urged the navy to sustain the tempo in the interest of the wellbeing of Ibaka people.(NAN)
