
The Nigeria Police Pressure, Zone 2 Command headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, has arrested three people over their alleged involvement in a spread of offences, together with legal conspiracy, cybercrime, forgery, impersonation and cult-related actions.
The Assistant Inspector Common (AIG) in command of the Zone, Olohundare Jimoh, said this in an official assertion launched by means of the command’s spokesperson, DSP Gbenga Afolayan. He famous that the arrests have been a part of intensified efforts to curb fraud and associated crimes throughout Lagos and Ogun states.
The police stated the operation was carried out by operatives of the Zonal Intelligence Division (ZID) on January 7, 2025, following actionable intelligence. The coordinated raid came about within the Lekki-Ajah space of Lagos, resulting in the apprehension of suspects aged 24, 33, and 36.
Preliminary findings point out that the youngest suspect was first intercepted alongside Chevron Drive whereas driving a luxurious car. He was later linked to alleged cybercrime actions. A follow-up search at his residence resulted within the arrest of the 2 different suspects.
Police investigations recommend that the trio performed distinct roles inside an organised cyber fraud community. Authorities allege that the 24-year-old coordinated operations and created fraudulent accounts, whereas the 33-year-old managed {financial} transactions and assortment of illicit proceeds.
