Osun State resources are being managed properly and in accordance with due process, according to the Ademola Adeleke administration, which has defended its record on public spending.
Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson, provided the explanation in an interview with Westernspring Television in Osogbo that was shared on the state’s X account on Tuesday.
Opposition politicians’ claims of financial mismanagement were rejected by Rasheed, who called them untrue and deceptive.
According to him, the state government makes sure that all projects are carried out using “value for money” principles and rigorously adheres to procurement legislation.
He claims that state-funded infrastructure initiatives are observable, verifiable, and immediately helpful to Osun inhabitants.
Claims that the governor spent ₦92 billion on feeding were directly denied by the spokeswoman, who described the accusation as unfounded.
He declared, “It is a lie from the pit of hell,” adding that such assertions are the result of either “mischief or financial illiteracy.”
He clarified that it is incorrect to assign all government spending to a single item or office because it is dispersed among numerous agencies and industries.
Additionally, Rasheed charged opposition leaders with being against the state’s “local content” strategy, which gives local contractors and professionals priority when carrying out government projects.
He stated that the administration is still dedicated to using infrastructure development to empower engineers and professionals in Osun.
According to the spokesperson, all active projects—such as roads, bridges, schools, and medical facilities—meet appropriate engineering requirements and are on par with the best practices.
He mentioned both finished and continuing projects, such road dualization and bridges, to support his claim that their quality is visible throughout the state.
He claims that important areas like as roads and bridges, health facilities, education improvements, agriculture, water infrastructure, staff welfare, pensions, and empowerment programs are all receiving state funding.
According to him, these initiatives are intended to boost development throughout the state and improve livelihoods.
Additionally, the spokesperson claimed that opposing groups are politically motivated and are trying to undermine governance by controlling local government budgets.
He reaffirmed that the administration is still committed to providing quantifiable outcomes for the state’s citizens in spite of these obstacles.
