One killed, 2 Agbekoya members arrested over conflict in Ibadan 


Two members of Agbekoya militia group at the moment are in police internet in Ibadan over the demise of an Okada rider.

It was learnt that the Okada rider reportedly misplaced his life throughout a conflict late Saturday at Olorunda Aba space of Ibadan throughout a conflict between the Okada rider members of the Agbekoya militia group.

Following the demise of the Okada rider recognized as Awo, sources mentioned two members of the Agbekoya group within the space had been arrested by the police. 

The conflict in response to sources within the space erupted on account of the alleged apprehension of one of many Okada riders by members of the Agbekoya group over an alleged offence after which  different Okada riders reportedly mobilised and engaged the Agbekoya members for the discharge of their member.

Sources mentioned the conflict turned violent resulting in the demise of the Okada rider, recognized as Awo with others injured.

Oyo state Police command Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, in a press release confirmed the demise of one of many Okada riders within the conflict.

The PPRO acknowledged that  two members of the Agbekoya militia group have been arrested by the Police in reference to the conflict.

“In regards to the conflict between Okada rider and Agbekoya, round 7pm this night (on Saturday) ensuing within the demise of 1 Okada rider recognized solely as Awo, the Oyo state police command have arrested two Agbekoya members,” he mentioned. 

The PPRO added, “An investigation is ongoing to arrest the remaining one. In the meantime the state of affairs has been introduced underneath management.”
