
The Kebbi state police command Monday gave particulars about assaults on communities by suspected insurgents in Shanga native authorities space.
An announcement by the Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of SP Bashir Usman said that:
“On the night time of fifth April 2026, suspected Mamudawa terrorists attacked Gebe, Kawara, Kalkami, and close by villages in Shanga native authorities space, making the most of the wetland terrain.
“Elements of those communities have been set on fireplace, and lives have been tragically misplaced.
“The command expresses its deepest condolences to the households affected and stands firmly with the communities throughout this troublesome time.
“Safety forces, together with Police Tactical Items, the Army, Marine Police, and native vigilantes, are actively deployed to revive normalcy, safe the affected areas, and make sure the security of residents.
“Operations are ongoing, and the general public is urged to stay calm whereas additional motion is taken,” the assertion mentioned.
