JUST IN: Usman Elected Labour Party National Chairman

Former caretaker chair Nenadi Usman has been confirmed as the substantive National Chairman of the Labour Party.

Usman’s election took place at the party’s 2026 elective national convention, held on Tuesday in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

Delegates also elected Hon. Acho Obioma, a former member of the House of Representatives for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency and current Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Political Affairs, as National Secretary.

He succeeds Senator Darlington Nwokocha, who previously served as Secretary of the Caretaker Committee.

All members of the new National Working Committee were returned through a consensus arrangement.
