A contemporary political storm is brewing inside the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe state, because the celebration’s youth wing has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to former governorship candidate Hon. Nafiu Bala.
The youth are demanding that he retract current statements and formally settle for what they described as his resignation from the celebration.

In a strongly worded assertion launched Monday, the convener of the group, Abubakar Galafi, accused Bala of undermining the celebration’s unity and democratic ideas via what he termed an inner hijack of democracy.
“As we speak, we converse with outrage and clear conviction on behalf of the youth and grassroots members of ADC who refuse to be silent whereas democracy is being hijacked from inside,” Galafi said.
He mentioned the state of affairs had escalated past inner disagreements, alleging that Bala’s actions amounted to “a deliberate assault” on the celebration’s core values.
