FG Approves Rerouting Of Lagos-Calabar Coastal Freeway To Cross Ogoniland In Honour Of Late Mpigi

Talking at a Evening of Tribute in Abuja yesterday, Umahi described Mprigi’s demise as a profound loss to the nation and recalled his unwavering dedication to nationwide growth, integrity, and bridge-building within the Senate.

He famous that Senator Mpigi’s legacy extends past his constituency, with impactful tasks in Lagos, Ogun, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Kano states.

Umahi described the late lawmaker, who represented Rivers South-East Senatorial District, “as a person of impeccable integrity, whose phrase was his bond, emphasising that such consistency is uncommon in politics”.

The minister highlighted Senator Mpigi’s instrumental position in resolving challenges on key highway tasks, together with the Bodo-Bonny Highway and the Eleme-Onne part of the East-West Highway in Rivers State.

In recognition of Senator Mpigi’s service, he acknowledged that president Bola Tinubu has accredited the rerouting of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Freeway to move via Ogoniland.

Umahi assured the bereaved household of the Federal Authorities’s help, pledging to maintain Senator Mpigi’s developmental imaginative and prescient.

The minister prayed for the repose of Senator Mpigi’s soul, urging Nigerians to attract inspiration from his legacy of integrity, patriotism, and repair.
