Update: The forward progress of the Live Oak Fire, which broke out near Live Oak Park Road in Fallbrook, California, on Tuesday afternoon, has been stopped, according to incident command.
Evacuations and shelter-in-place lifted
All evacuation orders and shelter-in-place directives have been lifted on the Genasys Evacuation Map, including Zones SDC-0100, SDC-0101, and SDC-0102, which were previously under shelter-in-place orders. Officials confirmed that all roads in the area have also reopened.
No reported damage or injuries
There have been no reports of structural damage or injuries linked to the fire.
Earlier in the day, the San Diego County Sheriffâs Office issued evacuation orders, which were later downgraded to a shelter-in-place order due to improved containment efforts.
Sheriffâs Office update
In a final update posted on X, the Sheriffâs Office said the shelter-in-place order had been lifted following improved containment.
“The SHELTER IN PLACE for the #LiveOakFire in Fallbrook has been lifted due to improved containment. If you evacuated from your home, it is now safe to return. Please be mindful of firefighters who are still working in the area. We want to thank the public for their cooperation.”
“The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office would also like to thank our law enforcement, firefighting and first responder partners for their assistance and support during this incident. A reminder: fire season is year-round in Southern California. We urge everyone to have their evacuation plans in place and to communicate with their families and neighbors.”

Where the fire is burning
According to an update from the San Diego County Sheriffâs Office, the fire is burning near the 2500 block of Live Oak Park Road in Fallbrook.
Fire-tracking service Watch Duty reports the blaze has burned approximately two acres so far. Authorities say no structures are currently threatened.
Evacuation orders in place
Mandatory evacuation orders have been issued for Zones SDC-0100, SDC-0101, and SDC-0102, as shown on the Genasys Evacuation Map.
Officials urged residents to leave immediately.
âIt means everyone in the impacted areas must leave immediately. If you feel you are in danger, go,â the Sheriffâs Office said.
Road closures and safety advisory
Gum Tree Lane and Live Oak Park Road are closed for about one mile in each direction from their intersection.
Authorities are also advising residents in Fallbrook to expect increased law enforcement and firefighting activity in the area.
