Breaking: FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays to mark Easter celebration


The federal authorities has declared Friday third and Monday sixth April, 2026 as public holidays to mark this yr’s Easter celebration.

The Minister of Inside, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the federal authorities, congratulated all Christians in Nigeria and within the diaspora on the joyous event of Easter.

In an announcement signed by the Everlasting Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the minister urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance and love as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

He urged Nigerians to stay dedicated to the values of tolerance and neighborhood that hold us collectively as a nation.

He reiterated that the objective of the federal government stays taking choices that may result in nationwide rebirth, {economic} progress, and shared prosperity.

He wished all Christians a peaceable and joyous Easter celebration.
