Scores of individuals have been killed and several other others injured following an assault by terrorists in Angwan Rukuba, situated in Jos North Native Authorities Space of Plateau State.
Eyewitnesses stated the assault occurred at about 7:00 p.m. when the assailants, who reportedly arrived in giant numbers on bikes, started taking pictures sporadically into the air and straight at a crowd gathered at a preferred junction within the space.
The attackers had been stated to have opened fireplace close to a preferred Plateau Personal Faculty, triggering panic as residents and passersby fled for security.
Confirming the incident, the Media Data Officer, Captain Chinonso Polycarp, stated the assault passed off whereas residents had been going about their regular every day actions.
In line with him, the variety of casualties has not but been formally decided, though scores had been reported killed and plenty of others sustained accidents.
He added that these injured have been taken to hospital for remedy.
Polycarp stated investigations are ongoing to determine these chargeable for the assault, whereas safety personnel have been deployed to the realm to forestall any additional escalation of violence.
