JUST IN: Six PDP lawmakers defect to APC in Ogun State Home of Meeting

Six members of the Ogun State Home of Meeting elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Get together (PDP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The event means the 26-member Meeting is now made up completely of APC lawmakers. After the 2023 elections, the APC received 17 seats within the Meeting whereas the PDP secured 9.

The defectors embody Hon. Lukman Adeleye, Minority Chief and member representing Odogbolu constituency.

Others are Hon. Bello Oluwadamilare, Sagamu I; Hon. Lawal Samusideen, Ogun Waterside; Hon. Adesanya Oluseun Samuel, Ijebu North-East; Hon. Owode Waliu Ifedolapo, Ijebu East; and Hon. Dickson Kolawole Awolaja, Remo North.

The lawmakers reportedly attended the APC nationwide conference in Abuja the place they formalised their defection.

Adeleye confirmed the event in a phone interview on Sunday with Each day belief, attributing the defection to the disaster inside the PDP on the nationwide stage.

He mentioned the management tussle between factions led by Kabiru Turaki and Nyesom Wike influenced their resolution.
