Residents of communities round Liji in Gombe state have been suggested to not panic over gunshots because the Nigerian Military begins a live-fire coaching train subsequent week.
The 301 Artillery Regiment (Normal Assist) stated the train would maintain from 30 to 31 March at its Small Arms Vary in Liji, as a part of the military’s routine vary classification coaching for 2026.
In a press release issued by Lieutenant Kingsley Ugwuoke, the Performing Assistant Director, Military Public Relations, the regiment stated Thursday that the drill is a bi-annual coaching exercise carried out throughout formations and models of the Nigerian Military.
The military stated the train is supposed to sharpen the operational abilities of troops and enhance their proficiency in dealing with weapons.
“It’s aimed toward refreshing the talents {of professional} troopers, thereby enhancing their proficiency in weapon dealing with so as to obtain good outcomes throughout navy operations,” the assertion stated.
It added that the coaching would additionally assist navy authorities assess the preparedness of troops for fight and different operational assignments.
