The FCT Excessive Court docket in Maitama, Abuja, on Thursday discharged former Aviation Minister Stella Oduah and her co-defendant Gloria Odita from N2.5 billion fraud expenses after they reached a settlement with the Nigerian authorities.
The ruling adopted a report by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo, confirming that the defendants had refunded the funds on the heart of the allegations.
The courtroom, presided over by Decide Hamza Muazu, struck out the fees and formally discharged the 2 people.
Whereas the previous minister and her co-defendant had been cleared, the courtroom convicted two company entities—Sobora Worldwide Restricted and World Offshore Marine Restricted by way of which the alleged fraud was performed.
The businesses had been ordered to make restitution totaling N1.2 billion to the federal authorities, along with forfeiting N780 million recovered through the investigation.
The costs stemmed from allegations that the defendants obtained N2.5 billion from the Ministry of Aviation between January 2014 and February 2014, disguised as funds for technical supervision, safety, and logistics providers.
The case had been below plea-bargaining provisions of the Administration of Legal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015.
Ms Oduah, who served as Minister of Aviation from July 2011 to February 2014 below former President Goodluck Jonathan, later represented Anambra North Senatorial District within the Nationwide Meeting from 2015 to 2023.
The courtroom proceedings marked the conclusion of months of settlement negotiations that delayed the trial, which had begun following the defendants’ arraignment in December 2025.
