A non-governmental organisation, Ike-Elechi Ogba Basis, Monday intensified efforts to revive Igbo tradition and traditions with the convocation of a cultural carnival and artwork exhibition in Ebonyi state.
The occasion, held on the School of Social Sciences and Humanities Corridor of Ebonyi State College, Abakaliki, additionally featured the launch of a e-book titled Echoes of a Regal Throne.
Chief of the inspiration and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Lecturers), Prof. Ike-Elechi Ogba, stated the initiative was geared toward showcasing African and Nigerian heritage, with specific deal with Ebonyi tradition.
He stated the programme is designed to reconnect society with its roots and counter the gradual erosion of indigenous values.
The occasion attracted distinguished stakeholders, together with Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and former governor and Minister of Training, Sam Egwu, amongst others.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Authorities, Prof. Grace Umezuruike, Governor Nwifuru reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to preserving Igbo language and tradition.
He additionally expressed concern over assaults on conventional rulers, stressing the necessity to shield their lives and property.
