Wike Seeks FEC Approval To Function N51bn Abuja Bus Terminals

Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has stated the FCT Administration was awaiting the approval of the Federal Govt Council (FEC) to approve the working of the Abuja Bus and Taxi Terminals constructed at the price of N51 billion as a result of the contract was past the ministerial approval.

He admitted this on Thursday on the inspection of ongoing main tasks like Arterial Highway N1 at Wuye District to Ring Highway II, the reconstruction of Dei-Dei- Life Camp Junction linking Saburi, Gwagwa, Idu Karo with Obafemi Awolowo Highway and the development of twin carriage approach to join Central Enterprise District to Wuse alongside transit N2 hall.

He stated the proposal underneath the Public Personal Partnership would be introduced for consideration on the subsequent FEC assembly.

The FCT Administration in June 2025 inaugurated two multi-million-naira bus terminals at Mabushi and Kugbo whereas the third one at Central Enterprise District was nearing completion.

Nonetheless, since their completion Kugbo and Mabushi amenities designed to course of 10,000 passengers per day have remained largely unused, 

“We’re ready for the Federal Govt Council to approve the working as a result of the contract is past the ministerial approval. And so, it requires the Federal Govt Council approval. I do know that within the subsequent Federal Govt Council, will probably be introduced.
