Sowore, Bashir Ahmad React to Killing of 162 Residents by Terrorists in Kwara

Activist Omoyele Sowore and Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, have condemned the killing of no less than 162 residents of Woro group in Kaiama Native Authorities Space of Kwara State.

In separate statements shared on X on Wednesday, Sowore and Ahmad described the assault as horrific and unacceptable.

Sowore alleged that the victims have been killed throughout a bloody assault carried out by a terrorist group recognized by locals as “Memuda.”

He accused safety businesses of failing to answer misery calls or present safety, regardless of warnings allegedly issued by group members forward of the assault.

Based on Sowore, sources in the neighborhood disclosed that the village head had earlier alerted safety authorities after the group reportedly instructed residents they have been coming to “preach.” He claimed that no preventive deployment was made, leaving the group susceptible when the attackers finally struck.

Reacting individually, Ahmad described the killings as “past any type of comprehension,” including that no phrases of condemnation might adequately replicate the magnitude of the tragedy.

“The perpetrators of this heinous act can’t be described in any human phrases,” Ahmad stated.

“I hope that when our authorities finally seize them, justice might be served in full measure and they’ll face penalties commensurate with the gravity of their crimes,” he added.

The Kwara State Authorities has since confirmed the assault, which reportedly claimed the lives of no less than 162 individuals on Tuesday.

In response, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the deployment of army personnel to Kaiama Native Authorities Space of Kwara State.
