Police arrest 3 suspects over cultism in Enugu


Operatives of the Enugu state Police command have arrested three suspects for being members of cult {groups} in possession of laborious and illicit medication.

The command’s spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe, who acknowledged this in a press release  Monday identified that a few of the suspects have confessed to the crime.

“On nineteenth January 2026, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad, appearing on credible intelligence, arrested two male suspects, Mba Emmanuel (a.okay.a. “Indomie”, 31 and Onukwube Nnam (a.okay.a. “Nwa Amodu”, 35, on the Awkunanaw space of Enugu South native authorities space.

“The suspects confessed to being members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, with Mba recognized as the pinnacle and executioner of the illegal group in Enugu South LGA as of December 2025. 

“One Pump Motion gun and a domestically fabricated Beretta-type pistol Beretta-type, thirty-one (31) stay cartridges, a big wrap of substance suspected to be hashish sativa, one HP laptop computer, and one motorbike had been recovered from them,” he acknowledged .

He added that, “In a associated operation on thirty first January 2026, operatives raided felony hideouts within the Agbani axis, arresting eight suspects. 

“Following screening, one suspect, Ezeani Monday, 32, was present in possession of a dried substance suspected to be hashish sativa and 39 pellets of suspected crystal methamphetamine (“Mkpuru-mmiri”), whereas the remaining suspects had been launched after preliminary investigation,” Ndukwe additional acknowledged.
