The Federal Ministry of Well being and Social Welfare has disclosed that it has acquired solely ₦36 million out of its ₦218 billion capital allocation for the 2025 fiscal 12 months, elevating considerations over the implementation of vital well being infrastructure tasks nationwide.
The disclosure was made by the Minister of Well being, Professor Mohammed Pate, throughout a finances defence session with lawmakers on the Nationwide Meeting.
Professor Pate informed the lawmakers that whereas the ministry’s personnel finances had been absolutely utilised, capital tasks had largely stalled attributable to extreme funding delays.

He defined that “points round money planning and delayed counterpart contributions have considerably affected the execution of our capital tasks.”
In his response, the Chairman of the Home of Representatives Committee on Healthcare Companies, Amos Magaji, expressed concern over the scenario and requested higher accountability on donor funding.
Magaji requested the minister to formally submit complete particulars of donor funds acquired by the ministry and the way such funds had been utilised, stressing the necessity for transparency and efficient oversight.
