Kano Police Arrest 6 Over Stolen Tricycles, Get better Automobiles Price N7m
The Kano State Police Command has arrested six suspects in reference to felony conspiracy, theft, and receiving stolen property, following the restoration of two stolen tricycles valued at over ₦7 million.
The knowledge was disclosed in a press release issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.
The suspects – Salim Zakari, 20; Faruk Abubakar, 17; Yusuf Garba, 20; Mastur Shehu, 19; and Safiyanu Suleiman, 23 – had been apprehended after a grievance was lodged by Ayuba Muhammad, who reported that his tricycle was stolen on January 24, 2026, at about 2:30 p.m. at Panshekara Quarters in Kano.
In response to the police, the stolen tricycle, bearing Registration Quantity BBR 195 CB and KAROTA Quantity KMC 1229, and valued at ₦3.5 million, was offered to 1 Umar Bello Dahiru, 24, for ₦2.6 million.
Additional investigation revealed that the identical suspects had earlier stolen one other tricycle from the residence of Abdullahi Adamu in Yankusa Quarters, Kano. The second tricycle was additionally allegedly offered to Dahiru for ₦2.7 million.
Police stated discreet investigations led to the arrest of Dahiru, who was present in possession of the 2 stolen tricycles. A horse valued at ₦800,000, reportedly bought by the principal suspects with proceeds from the crime, was additionally recovered.
Dahiru reportedly confessed to purchasing the tricycles with the information that they had been stolen.
