11 perish in auto crash alongside Enugu-Port Harcourt freeway 


The Federal Street Security Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the demise of 11 individuals concerned in a deadly street accident alongside Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.

The sector commander of FRSC Enugu state command, Mr Franklin Agbakoba, gave the affirmation to newsmen in Enugu on Saturday after the deadly accident involving two autos.

Agbakoba mentioned “the accident occurred at about 6:46 p.m on Saturday, at a location adjoining to the FRSC Ozalla Unit Command within the expressway.”

He mentioned the 11 individuals that misplaced their lives included 10 males and one feminine.

“A complete of 36 individuals, which included 27 males and 9 feminine, bought concerned within the collision between a business Toyota Coaster Bus and an articulated Mercedes Benz trailer this night in Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.

“Aside from those who sadly misplaced their lives because of the accident; seven individuals, which included three males and 4 feminine, had been injured within the accident.

“The injured  victims have been taken to the College of Nigeria Educating Hospital (UNTH), Ituku-Ozalla for medical consideration.

“The useless victims had been taken to the UNTH Morgue,” he mentioned.

The sector commander mentioned FRSC personnel had cleared off all obstruction on the expressway brought on by the accident, including: “We have now restored free stream of vehicular visitors on the accident axis of the expressway.”

Agbakoba famous that preliminary investigations recommend Route Site visitors Violation (RTV) and Lack of Management (LOC) as potential reason for the deadly accident.
