TV star who feared dying in sleep committed to weight loss journey as she drops pounds

My 600-lb Life, Syreeta Covington, is now thriving as she remains committed to her weight loss journey. She had originally weighed over 600 lbs but is now working out and staying healthy.

She is one of many My 600-lb Life stars following Dr. Now’s advice. Syreeta realised she needed to drop the pounds if she wanted to have a baby and go through pregnancy safely, and stuck to a diet.

Syreeta, 31, weighed 609lbs on My 600-lb Life, and visited Dr. Now with a goal of pregnancy with her husband, Lawrence. As a survivor of childhood abuse, she turned to food as a source of comfort.

She had been struggling to control her urges to overeat and could not seem to shake her bad habits. But after developing a plan with Dr. Now, Syreeta made huge strides toward her goals.

From swimming to going on runs, Syreeta struggled with the consistency of eating healthily but was returned with a strict warning from the doctor: that she “won’t live longer” if she continues.

Syreeta’s weight loss journey

Dr. Now approved Syreeta for weight loss surgery under the condition that she would lose another 25 pounds in a month after her initial 59-pound weight loss. But after four months, she had gained 9lbs.

She went to therapy, and worked hard to meet Dr. Now’s next goal of losing 40 pounds in two months. Syreeta lost 29 pounds instead, but was urged to keep progressing over the next two months.

After working with Dr. Now for a year, Syreeta lost 97 pounds and weighed 506 pounds. Although she hasn’t shared any updates on surgery, the TLC star appears to be committed to weight loss.

Where Syreeta is now

Syreeta is now thriving and working as a hairstylist. She has been working out even without a trainer and remains married to her My 600-lb Life on-screen partner, Lawrence, who she wants a pregnancy with.

She has been working on her personal mindset barriers and wrote in March, “For some reason lately I’ve been waking up and seeing stuff for what it is and stepping back yes after ive told my business.”

“After I’ve let you in my personal space but you know you no longer have access to me in any way shape or form #Growth#healing#lettinggoofthepast,” she continued on Facebook.
