Swamp People fisherman has a secret sporting talent that took him to Hall of Fame

Ronnie Adams isn’t just a fisherman but a college football player! He was so good at the sport that he has been placed on the Hall of Fame, especially as he’s now a famous Swamp People star.

He got dressed up in formal camo wear to receive his college Hall of Fame on Swamp People, and fans were so proud of the fisherman. Many viewers had no idea he had the secret talent up his sleeve.

Ronnie Adams’ college football days

Ronnie Adams was a great college football player, so much so that he’s now on the Hall of Fame at his former school. He’s now known as one of the most successful hunters on the bayou.

In September 2023, Ronnie was inducted into the Jones College Sports Hall of Fame as seen on the History show in 2024. Adams played football and was a member of the Bobcat track team in 1995-96.

He played in the offensive line in football and was conference champion in the shotput in track, representing Jones in the NJCAA Track and Field championships.

Swamp People star makes it onto Hall of Fame

Adams has made it onto the Jones College Sports Hall of Fame! He told Jones Bobcats he did not believe anyone at Jones knew him by his real name – they only knew him as “Cajun!”

After leaving Jones, Adams returned home to Louisiana and played for the University of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (then the University of Southwestern Louisiana). He was a two-year letter winner in football.

He was also the strongest bench presser on the team, and later received the Medal of Heroism from Sons of the American Revolution for rescuing people during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Ronnie donates spare time to charity

Ronnie donates time and resources to the Special Olympics, Autism Awareness and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, when he’s not busy fishing with Ashley “Deadeye” Jones.

He lives in Southern Louisiana with his wife, Jen Adams, and often runs swamp tours and hunts for visitors, alongside alligator apparel and souvenirs for fans to take home.

While Ronnie grew up hunting and learning all there is to know about the swamps, he was very passionate about football, and bonded with his wife over their love of the outdoors!
