Beyoncè and Kim Kardashian famously “aren’t friends” but that doesn’t stop fans drawing parallels between the two on a regular basis. As Kim attended the Super Bowl this February, her followers called her a “copycat” for wearing a cowboy hat. Now, Beyoncé reveals she had psoriasis as a child showing the two have more in common all the time.
Kim Kardashian openly talked about her struggles with psoriasis on her family’s reality TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. More recently she’s taken to Instagram to highlight “flare ups” and how she deals with the condition. While Kim has been sharing details about her skin condition for some time, it’s only just come to light that singing superstar, Beyoncé, also had it, too.
Beyoncè talks psoriasis
As if new music wasn’t enough for Beyoncé to break the internet this February, the mom of three revealed in an interview with Essence how she’s launching a haircare brand.
Speaking to the outlet, she explains her latest business venture following on from her success with House of Deréon and IVY PARK.
The star is launching Cécred – a haircare line she developed with her mother.
Speaking of the brand’s name, she said: “So I took the end of my name, Cé, and made it the beginning of the word sacred to create Cécred.”
Beyoncé explained how her mom had a salon when she was growing up. She told Essence: “The relationship we have with our hair is such a deeply personal journey. From spending my childhood in my mother’s salon to my father applying oil on my scalp to treat my psoriasis— these moments have been sacred to me.”

Kim’s psorasis journey
Beyoncé isn’t the only one who dealt with psoriasis in her life as Kim received her diagnosis of the skin condition in 2011.
The two may not be “friends,” per The Daily Mail, but they do seem to have a lot in common including their marriages to rappers, and penchants for cowboy hats. Kim and her family also attended Beyoncé’s latest concert so the Kar-Jenners clearly are big fans.
At 30 years old, Kim headed to the doctor’s office during Keeping Up With the Kardashians and worried the “flaky spots” would make their way up her body to her face.
She said in a confessional: “My career is doing ad campaigns and swimsuit photoshoots, people don’t understand the pressure on me to look perfect. When I gain a pound, it’s in the headlines…”
Kim’s doctor explained how factors including “stress, food, water, diet,” can affect the psoriasis. He added: “It’s not curable, but controllable because you can’t alter the genetics.”
Fans call Kim a Beyoncé ‘copycat’
When Kim rocked up to the Super Bowl in a trouser and top co-ord and a matching cowboy hat, she may not have been prepared for people t start mocking her in her post’s comments section.
Kim wore the accessory at the same time Beyoncé just released new songs including 16 CARRIAGES and TEXAS HOLD ‘EM. The videos and promo for the new music sees Bey wearing a cowboy hat.
Since then, some fans are convinced Kim is “Beyoncé obsessed” as well as a “copycat.”

However, others joked: “Listens to the new Beyoncé song once lol.”
Some defended Kim in the comments, writing: “It’s the fact that she wore this WAY before Beyonce but y’all stay hating on my girlie.”
