The Swedish government has decided to increase the income requirement for foreign migrants, stipulating that they must earn a minimum of 80% of the country’s average salary.
This was announced by the official Swedish ministry, where it was also stated that this change in legislation and regulation would take effect on November 1st.
The Swedish Justice Ministry, in a press release, stated that the primary goal of this new measure is to reduce low-skilled labour immigration, combat fraud, and address abuses associated with labour migration. Authorities believe that in many instances, individuals already residing in the country could perform low-skilled labour immigration.
